Plenty has been written in recent months over how the prospect of artificial intelligence (AI) can influence the enterprise. While the grand hypotheses and fantasies around driverless cars and the Internet of Things read like something out of Arthur C. Clarke, many recent announcements are naturally focusing on the lower hanging fruit.
Take the announcement by Kore at Gartner’s most recent Symposium/ITxpo event. The company launched the latest iteration to its Smart Bot product, aimed at reducing the burden on IT help desk teams. For employees, the assistant can reset a network or hardware password, place orders for new or replacement devices, as well as scan through a knowledge base to find answers to traditional IT headaches.
